Below are the most commonly asked questions:
How do I get to be a member of the association?
Everyone who identifies themselves as a Zimbabwean or their children can be a member of the association. What is required is a $20.00 (Canadian) annual subscription to get the lifetime membership for individual and $50 for a family of 4 [under 18].
What do I benefit from being a member of the Association?
We strongly believe that a united community does a lot of good. Whenever people put heads together, there is much we can achieve together. We live in a foreign land where loneliness and isolation can affect individuals, we are looking to bridge the gap and be the umbrella to help in that time of need. In our culture when there is a member of our community who is going through a difficult time of loss, we are there to rally around them to ensure that they know we are there for them.
How do I participate in the association?
Anyone can participate in the association. We are always looking for volunteers to assist in the different activities that we organise throughout the year. All members of the current committee are doing the work on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their work. We encourage people to volunteer and any of the work performed can be added to your resume and we endeavour to verify this when required.
How do I get in touch with the association?
You can contact any member of the committee or you can send us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Where does the association get its funds for all the activities and programs?
The association is a not for profit organization and does not get funding from any sources. We use the activities like the sports event and other various activities to raise funds to keep the association running. The association is always open for donations so that we can expand the programs that we can offer the community.
